NDIS
Understanding the NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding and supports to Australians living with disability, helping them achieve independence, connection, and a better quality of life. It’s designed to give participants choice and control over the services they receive so they can live life their way.
Supports Funded by the NDIS
The NDIS funds a broad spectrum of services to assist participants with daily living and personal goals. Depending on your plan, this may include:
- Core Supports – daily support such as personal care, domestic assistance, and transport.
- Capacity Building Supports – skill development, therapy, and activities to enhance independence.
- Capital Supports – equipment, assistive technology, or home modifications to enable safer and more accessible living.
Who Can Access the NDIS?
The NDIS is available to Australians who:
- Are between 7 and 65 years of age
- Are an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or a Protected Special Category Visa holder
- Have a permanent or substantial disability that impacts daily life
If you are eligible, you can be funded to access the support that you require.
